Understanding PTSD
PTSD can develop after any traumatic event — a single incident or ongoing situation. You might recognise some of these signs.
Intrusive memories or flashbacks
Nightmares or disrupted sleep
Feeling constantly on edge or hypervigilant
Avoiding places, people, or reminders
Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected
Sudden anger, irritability, or mood swings
Difficulty concentrating
Physical symptoms — racing heart, sweating, tension
Feeling like you’re reliving the event
Guilt, shame, or self-blame
You don’t need to experience all of these to benefit from support. Even a few symptoms can significantly affect your quality of life.
If these feel familiar, you’re not alone.
Do I Need a Diagnosis?
No
You do not need a formal diagnosis or a referral from a doctor to book a session with Nev. If you’re experiencing symptoms of trauma — diagnosed or not — RER may be able to help. Many clients come because they know something isn’t right, even without a label.
How RER Works for PTSD
Traditional PTSD therapies often require you to describe traumatic events in detail — something many people find retraumatising. RER takes a different path.
Using body-based awareness techniques, RER helps your nervous system process stored trauma responses without requiring you to retell what happened. Your body holds the memory — and your body can also release it, with the right guidance.
This approach is particularly helpful if you’ve found talking about your trauma makes things worse, or if the idea of recounting your experiences feels overwhelming.
Your body holds the trauma response
RER guides your nervous system to release it
You feel lighter — without retelling the story
What to Expect in a PTSD Session
Before Your Session
You’ll have a brief check-in call with Nev to discuss what you’re experiencing and ensure RER is appropriate. You can ask any questions. There’s no preparation required.
During Your Session
Nev will guide you through body-based techniques at your pace. You won’t be asked to describe traumatic events. The session is collaborative — you remain in control throughout.
After Your Session
Most clients feel lighter and more grounded. We’ll discuss follow-up if needed. There’s no set number of sessions — we work at your pace.
From Someone Who’s Been There

I lived with flashbacks and insomnia for years. Talk therapy helped me understand my PTSD, but RER was the first thing that actually made me feel different. I didn’t have to explain the worst moments — Nev guided me through it in a way that felt safe. After two sessions, my sleep improved and the flashbacks reduced. I wish I’d found this sooner.
